Hello, loyal antiphon-users.  Sorry to be MIA for awhile.  In major news, Andrew has accepted a new position as a combo Archdiocesan Director of Music / Cathedral Music Director for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis.  He will begin his new position on November 5.  Please keep him in your prayers as he prepares for an episcopal installation and Christmas in a brief period of time, and pray also for his successor here in Altoona, who will be facing similar challenges!

The plans for a book version of the antiphons was stalled in this diocese, but we are hoping to restart them in our new archdiocese.  Andrew also received an offer to include the antiphons in a hymnal, which may replace our book plan if an arrangement can be made, but we do have a very strong commitment to keeping this website up and the antiphons freely available to everyone.  So if arrangements to do so cannot be made with the hymnal publisher, we will continue with the plan of publishing a book form ourselves.
Hope everyone continues to have a blessed Easter season!  We are excited to announce that  Andrew has been working toward the release of Laudate Dominum Communion Antiphons as a book!  No, we have no plans to take down the free website; the book is for the convenience of organists who might like a spiral-bound copy of the entire collection of antiphons for easier use at Mass.  The book will also contain an index by Sunday and also an index of the Latin incipits in alphabetical order.

Andrew is still working toward negotiating an agreement with holders of the copyrighted material contained in the antiphons and gaining the approval of the bishops.  But we hope to have the book available soon!
